The stars come out for Generation Green at children’s charity’s first birthday party

Some of the country’s biggest names in pop showed their support to Generation
Green at The O2 arena in London this month.
The event was part of children’s charity, The Transformation Trust’s
first birthday party which saw over 10,000 excited school pupils from up and down
the country enjoy a perfect end-of-term treat.

Energy Display Meter installations begin in schools
11th June 2010
This week will see the start of installations of a free Energy Display Meter (EDM)
in 137 primary and secondary schools across the country. Those that will benefit
include seven schools in Maidenhead, six schools in Manchester, four schools in
Bolton and three in Peterborough.
The schools have all successfully completed the simple online application process
and will soon be monitoring their energy usage in real time. By linking to the school’s
existing IT network, the EDM can display data across the school for all to see.

Schools learn about Energy Display Meters in green-focused workshops

Pupils and teachers from 18 primary schools ‘engauged’ this week (17
May) for an event on saving energy and water and learned how they could benefit
from a free Energy Display Meter.
The first ‘Engauge Petal Day’ was hosted by West Sussex County Council’s
(WSCC) Carbon Reduction Team which is piloting a project to reduce carbon dioxide
emissions with 40 schools. After the pilot the project will be rolled out to all
schools across West Sussex.

discuss the importance of sustainability in Westminster
MPs and representatives from leading companies and organisations attending the Westminster
Sustainable Business Forum in London heard more about how the free Energy Display
Meter (EDM) will help encourage more sustainable behaviour in schools across England.

The Energy Display Meter application process is now ‘live’

Well over 10,000 people have registered their interest in obtaining a free display
meter for their school since the initiative was launched at the end of January 2010.
All those who registered should now have received an email encouraging them to complete
the full online application process to get their school on the installation list
to receive their energy display meter as soon as possible.

Thousands register for free Energy Display Meter

Thousands of people from across England have signed up for a free Energy Display
Meter for their school, after the 12m initiative was launched by Schools Secretary
at the end of January. Within the first week alone, more than 6,500 people had registered
their interest, with over 10,000 visits to the Energy Display Meter website.
